content management

One of my other websites Ordo Acerbus is rather flaky at the moment. It is running on a ‘content management system’ of sorts that I hacked out myself when I was learning Ruby on Rails. As often the case with these things, it was an interesting learning exercise, but now it has been left for some time and I can see problems and new features I’d like to have, I am put off wanting to maintain it more.

So I am thinking about installing some other CMS from a maintained project. Ones I can think of are:
Drupal – seems to be popular and is being maintained, but might be a bit of work to install.
Joomla! – I don’t know much about, but it is available as a Dreamhost ‘one-click install’ so it might be less work.

Does anyone have any thoughts on either of these? I am interested in how easy they would be to customize the site theme to match the current colors and graphics.

Drupal isn’t hard to install, and is pretty easy to theme.
