sync kolab

I was annoyed yesterday that I couldn’t find an address I wanted, so I started thinking about whether I could use some kind of shared addressbook on my web server.

Looking around I found Sync Kolab, which is an extension for Thunderbird that can store the addressbook entries in an IMAP folder. I thought this sounded ideal.

I tried it at home last night and it seemed to be working nicely. This morning I installed it at work and pointed it at the same IMAP folder, and it seems to have neatly uploaded local address entries I had here, and then deleted everything from the local addressbook. Doh!
